Alamo Heights Independent School District traces its history from the year 1909 when the first school, a two-room wooden frame building on Townsend Avenue, was built in this picturesque area as part of a rural county district. A new school building of masonry was later constructed on the site that is now Cambridge Elementary School. In 1923, just one year after the high school building was added to the growing campus, the Alamo Heights system became an independent school district of 300 students.

East Central Independent School District - Committed to a quality education, the District strives to promote a positive school climate that optimizes teaching and learning in accordance with the values of its community. The instructional focus is reflected in a curriculum that supports academic achievement for all children. Within our schools, this academic achievement is fostered by high expectations of both staff and students. The students' academic performance is monitored effectively and the results utilized in planning goals and objectives. A strong commitment to preparing students to function in an ever changing technological world accompanies our goals for a solid basic education for all. Leadership throughout the District supports the goals and helps to communicate the educational mission of East Central.

Edgewood Independent School District - Mission Statement: To successfully prepare present and future generations in the Edgewood Independent School District for college and career pathways by establishing a Culture of Educational Excellence.

Fort Sam Houston Independent School District educates the children of active military personnel. The district is coterminous with the Army installation Fort Sam Houston, meaning it has the same boundaries as the installation. We are diligent in our efforts to maintain a strong partnership with the Installation for the sake of our military-connected children.

Harlandale Independent School District serves 14,510 students with 21 schools and four facilities for special needs. The district has come a long way from its beginnings as a one-room, one-teacher, rural school. The credit, however, for 100 years of educating our children in Harlandale ISD goes to the parents, educators and citizens of this community.

Judson Independent School District - All Judson ISD students will receive a quality education enabling them to become successful in a global society.

Our Lady of the Lake University is a small, Catholic, private university with a deep connection to the history and community of San Antonio. Randolph Field Independent School District - The purpose of education in the District is to prepare individuals to be continual learners who are successful, productive, responsible citizens. St. Mary's University, founded in 1852 by Marianist brothers and priests, is the first institution of higher learning in San Antonio and the oldest Catholic university in Texas and the Southwest. Personal attention and powerful academic programs have made St. Mary's, located on 135 acres northwest of downtown San Antonio, a nationally recognized liberal arts institution. With a diverse student population of nearly 4,000 of all faiths and backgrounds, St. Mary's is home to five schools: Humanities and Social Sciences, Bill Greehey School of Business, Science, Engineering and Technology, Graduate and Law.

The Alamo Colleges serve the Bexar County community through their programs and services that help students succeed in acquiring the knowledge and skills needed in today's world. Students are taught by highly qualified faculty with Master's and doctorate degrees dedicated to creating a learning centered environment. Student services include counseling, computer labs, tutoring, financial services, services for the disabled, developmental instruction, veteran's services, and job placement.

The University of Texas at San Antonio serves the San Antonio metropolitan area the broader region of South Texas through programs and services offered from its three campuses: Main Campus, Downtown Campus and Hemisfair Park Campus.

Trinity University - Located in the culturally rich city of San Antonio, Trinity University is one of the nation's top private universities. With 2,600 talented undergraduate and graduate students, the University is known for its stimulating, resourceful, and collaborative environment - in the classroom, on campus, and around the world.

University of the Incarnate Word - The University is one of the many outgrowths of the original mission that brought the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word to San Antonio in 1869. The Sisters' work began with the care of victims of a cholera epidemic and the establishment of the first hospital in the city, an institution recognized today as the Christus Santa Rosa Health Care Corporation. Their ministry soon spread to the care of homeless children and teaching. In 1881, they secured a charter the State of Texas, which empowered them to establish schools on all levels.
